Since the oil crisis of 1973, the quality of fuel has become progressively worse.  This has resulted in built up carbon deposits in the combustion chamber and on the fuel injectors, causing a corresponding drop in octane.  This affects the anti-knock quality of the fuel causing knocking, pinging, poor performance, and high emissions.

         Requirements to receive an EPA registration number include extensive emissions testing, physical standards testing,

         performance claims/test results and NO HARMS/durability testing/materials compatibility testing.  (i.e.: seals/gaskets,

         sensors, catalytic convertors and metals). 

·         Southwest Research Institute (SWRI) – Responsible for all testing and results. This San Antonio based

facility is one of the most highly respected independent, non-governmental and unbiased testing facilities in the world. 

Southwest Research Institute is not affiliated with any company or organization. 

·         Complies with federal ultra low-sulfur content requirements – Approved for use in diesel and non-road engines.
